Trucker for Westfield company poised to compete in a national driving competition in Ohio
Evelyn Vincenzo drives a tractor-trailer for the love and for the money, and now she’s honing her precision behind the wheel.
Vincenzo, 64, who hauls general commodities for A. Duie Pyle in Westfield, is spending her Saturdays practicing maneuvers. The Ashfield resident is deep in training prior to heading to Columbus, Ohio, for the National Truck Driving Championships Aug. 16 to 19.
She has already taken top honors at the 2023 Tristate Truck Driving Championships in Windsor Locks, Conn., held June 10. She was first in her class, known as 5-axle, and she was named “Rookie of the Year” for her combined score on three exams.
