Design & Implementation

One of Pyle’s leading clients understood this predicament quite well. As an exclusive North American distributor of aftermarket parts for a major automaker, this client needed more than just warehouse space in the Northeast – they needed warehousing and fulfillment along with parcel and LTL shipment services for nearly twelve thousand SKUs, ten thousand bin locations and 1,500 rack locations. From nuts and bolts to transmission supplies, the client needed a logistics provider who could receive and store this vast inventory while also picking, packing and shipping it via parcel and freight transportation modes.

Results

Under a time-sensitive need, Pyle was able to make available 55,000 sq. ft. for the client’s wide variability of parts, reconfiguring warehouse racking and adding shelving to prepare for the new account. Additionally, although the customer was predominantly using parcel shipping, Pyle’s integrated capabilities adeptly handheld both LTL and parcel shipping modes for the customer, with the client using Pyle’s award-winning LTL service to seamlessly transfer 12,000 SKUs without missing a single order processing or shipping day for the customer. Through a fully integrated warehouse management system, and using directed put away which utilized Pyle’s WMS daily cycle counting features, the warehouse team members could pick, pace, label and ship with small parcel partners while prioritizing shipments by SKU velocity providing customized reporting. Pyle’s warehouse management system also granted the clients operation the option of putting away in existing stock bins rather than creating new bin locations. All of these elements contributed to reduced storage costs that minimized bin count.

Whether it was within the supply chain sector or the real estate market, capacity will always be a factor in the Northeast marketplace.

Finding a supply chain solutions partner that answers multiple challenges with ease for the customer was proven once more when a leading client partnered with A. Duie Pyle.

After considering the competition, the client partnered with Pyle not simply for its resources and available capacity in the tight Northeast marketplace, but also for the flexible, can-do attitude which permeated Pyle’s company culture. As an added advantage, Pyle’s diverse assets were in close proximity to NY-NJ ports, with an unmatched Northeast network working to incorporate additional resources as requested. Above all, Pyle’s Integrated Solution were brought on board for their ability to work seamlessly with each unique aspect of the client’s operation.
